Eric Anderson, COO


Eric Anderson is responsible for Outsource Marketing's operations. Eric joined the company in 2005. He has 15 + years experience in operations, planning and support, working with companies such as Costco Wholesale, Boeing Aviation Services, Nintendo of America, and numerous small to mid-size businesses in the Pacific Northwest.

Eric has his Project Management Certification from Bellevue Community College.

He is a certified MSDST and a member of the FileMaker Pro Solutions Alliance (FSA).

Mary Kate Baker, Marketing Project Manager

Mary Kate provides marketing project support for Outsource Marketing's clients and team members, as well as administration support for the firm. She previously worked at a wealth management firm in Atlanta where she focused primarily on business development, wealth management and office administration.

She holds a BA in Business Administration from The University of Kentucky and is currently attending Tennessee Tech earning her Masters in Business Administration.

Bill Boyd, ABC, Senior Strategist + Principal + Principal

Bill brings three decades' experience as a business communicator, political press secretary and broadcast journalist to your communications challenges.

Bill published the company newsletter at Weyerhaeuser for 70,000 employees and retirees. At AT&T Wireless, he created an entire communications system for employees in 10 western states.
At outdoor retailer REI, he kept information flowing to employees in 60+ REI stores across the U.S. and Japan, and managed the "What's New" section of REI.com.

He also was senior manager of communications at Terabeam, a high-tech startup, where he was responsible for internal and marketing communications.

In 2002, Bill formed his own communications company, FutureState Communications, to help organizations improve sales, productivity and profits by changing the thinking, feeling and behavior of employees. In January 2004, FutureState merged with Outsource Marketing.

Bill began his career as an all-news radio reporter and anchor in Washington, D.C. He spent seven years as a street reporter and assignment editor for Seattle's KSTW-TV.

Bill has a degree in communications from Ohio University. He is accredited by the International Association of Business Communicators and recently served as president of IABC's Seattle chapter (IABC named him "2005 Chapter Leader of the Year"). Bill is a member of the Council of Communication Management, founder and chair of IABC/Seattle's "Morning Manager" series, and a contributor to the Journal of Employee Communication Management and Communitelligence.com. He's also won eight IABC Gold Quill awards, a Bronze Anvil from PRSA, and numerous local and regional awards.

Patrick Byers, President + CEO

Patrick is the founder of Outsource Marketing. Prior to starting the firm in 1997, Patrick directed the marketing for two Seattle law firms as well as a Northwest-based telecommunications company. His experience in hiring, managing and coordinating a bevy of biased and uncoordinated marketing firms led to the formation of Outsource Marketing . . . a company that seamlessly delivers coordinated, discipline-neutral marketing.

He brings deep experience with marketing plan development, account management, company and brand positioning and message strategy, web strategy and naming for products, services and organizations.

An advocate of marketing education, Patrick instructed the evening Integrated Marketing Communications course at the University of Washington for five years and serves on the program's advisory board. He regularly donates his time speaking to and mentoring high school and college students interested in a career in marketing and has served on the boards of the Puget Sound chapter of the American Marketing Association and KidsQuest Children's Museum.

Patrick is an in-demand speaker regarding new and innovative ways to break through the clutter and marketing outsourcing and his articles have been published in local and national publications. In September, 2003, Patrick was recognized by the Puget Sound Business Journal as a 40 Under 40 honoree.

He is a graduate of Gonzaga University.

Kathy S. Cox, Marketing Integrator + Principal

Kathy S. Cox has more than two decades of marketing management experience on both the agency and the client side. She is also an entrepreneur who founded and served as chief executive of two Internet-based start up companies.

Kathy began her career with SCC&B:Lintas and Admarketing in the San Francisco area as an account manager. She helped launch seven pioneering subscription television entities, such as ON-TV and Golden West Broadcasting. After four years, Kathy moved to the client side as a marketing executive with a succession of top media companies, including Viacom, Times Mirror and TCI Cablevision. She won several cable-industry awards and served as president of the Bay Area Cable Cooperative.

After moving to the Pacific Northwest, Kathy was involved in negotiating the Seattle Mariners’ first cable television contract and launching Northwest Cable News (NWCN). As head of marketing, she helped make NWCN the highest rated regional cable news network in the country.

As an Internet entrepreneur, Kathy founded FilmPix, a movie information service, with funding from media analyst and financier Paul Kagan, chairman of Kagan Capital Management. FilmPix was ultimately acquired by Hollywood.com.

Kathy then founded ParentOrganizer, an online communications tool used by schools and community organizations to provide a better alternative to delivering information and interacting with families than the proverbial piles of paper brought home in children's backpacks.

Kathy has published a guide to her home town of Kirkland, WA, and uses her marketing skills to help clients such as Winterbrook Beverages, Edgate, and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.

Kathy graduated cum laude in broadcast journalism and political science from The Ohio State University and received an MBA from Pepperdine University. She judges competitions for the Washington chapter of DECA, an international association of high school and college marketing students, and serves as a member of DECA’s Business Leadership Council and the Fall Leadership Conference committee.

Lissa Dashe, Marketing Integrator | Affiliate

Lissa brings years of experience managing market research projects. Prior to joining Outsource Marketing, she ran hundreds of such projects at San Francisco's Quality Research Associates.

Lissa's resumé includes deep planning and research experience in food and beverages, in Internet systems and in non-profits. She also serves on the executive board of Puget Sound Chapter of the American Marketing Association.

Lissa holds a Master's in Business Administration from the University of Washington.

Spring Faussett, Marketing Integrator | Affiliate

Spring has more than 13 years experience positioning companies as leaders through marketing strategy, branding, communications, promotions and public relations. She is a nine-time award winning writer and public relations professional, as well as an award-winning inventor and entrepreneur. Spring began her career at a Seattle public relations firm where she represented more than 30 clients including Sur La Table, Sheraton Seattle, Canadian Pacific Hotels and Resorts, Sleeping Lady, Seattle Design Center, Sky Trekking Alaska, the American Society of Interior Designers Seattle Chapter, and the Steamship Virginia V. She has also worked on the corporate side for companies including Microsoft, Getty Images, Safeco Insurance, Arena Sports and Polar Fusion. In addition, Spring has developed and launched five new products over the past four years and received a Top 10 Hot New Consumer Product Invention award from Proctor & Gamble and Inventor's Digest Magazine.

Other awards include two gold, one silver and one bronze Golden Bell Public Relations awards from the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International; a bronze MC-ICON award from Marketing Computers magazine; two Best of Show IMCA Awards from the Insurance Marketing Communications Association; one bronze MC-ICON award from Marketing Computers magazine; and a John Caples Direct International Marketing Awards finalist.

Spring graduated from Washington State University and holds education certificates in Integrated Marketing and Internet Marketing from the University of Washington. She also completed the Program on Negotiation for Senior Executives at Harvard Law School. Community involvement includes serving on the volunteer committee for SADS, the Sudden Arrhythmia Death Syndromes Foundation.

Herman Kwik, Ph.D., Marketing Integrator + Principal

Herman has deep knowledge of international business, import/export strategy, supply chain management and the food industry. He has managed event-based promotion programs for consumer products at the manufacturer, distributor, and retail levels.

Herman has taught global business and marketing courses for the University of Phoenix, Washington campus since 2001. In addition to his work and teaching, Herman is also involved in child-focused volunteer work.

Before joining Outsource Marketing, he operated an international trading company serving the needs of consumer product manufacturers in Asia.

Herman earned his MBA from the University of Oregon and his Ph.D. from Portland State University.

Dan Murphy, Strategist + Principal

Dan joined Outsource Marketing after more than 20 years as a reporter, writer and editor of several B2B magazines and trade publications. A self-described "concept specialist," Dan specializes in taking complex technical and scientific information and refining it into clear, concise communications across both marketing and editorial channels.

His career highlights include:

  • Creation or re-launch of the editorial content for six B2B magazines in fields ranging from clinical medicine to meatpacking to commercial embroidery
  • Development of Meatingplace.com in 1996, now considered one of the food industry's premier infohubs for daily news and commentary
  • Service as Vice President of Public Affairs for the American Meat Institute, a Washington, D.C.-based lobbying organization
  • Author of the 2007 book, “The Meat of the Matter”, a collection of essays on animal rights, meat-eating and food-industry issues

Dan is a graduate of the University of Oregon, with degrees in Journalism and Health Education, and is a member of the International Association of Business Communicators.

Victoria Ostrovskaya, Marketing Integrator

Victoria's previous experience has been primarily focused on the hospitality industry, and office management. She supports the firm with marketing and communications research, planning and implementation, and serves as a liaison between the firm's clients, vendors and principals.

She has been actively involved in several marketing associations, including the Puget Sound chapter of the American Marketing Association and the Western Washington University Marketing Association.

Victoria received a bachelors degree in Marketing from Western Washington University and her project management certification at Bellevue Community College.

Martin Pierce, Design Manager

Martin brings 17 years of experience as a designer and art director working at agencies in Seattle, San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles.

His portfolio is filled with a diverse client base, including national brands such as RJ Reynolds, Old Navy, Trump, E! Entertainment Network, and Chase. He also has extensive experience serving medium and small clients.

Martin is the editor of Seattle theatre arts magazine, Unfringed, and the founder and artistic director of the West of Brooklyn Theatre Company.
